Guild Rules

Rules are set in place for a reason. We don’t write them or make them because we want to be oppressive, we make them because we want everyone’s experience to be as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
This guild isn’t a raiding guild, nor is it entirely a social guild. It is a guild whose main purpose is to help people enjoy the game and to just have fun. With that said, please obey these rules and read over them. All members are expected to know them, and while we will be lenient, if something happens we will act as if you have read these rules and understand what they mean. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
First of all, it’s just a game.
- Don’t take WoW too seriously. Have fun, enjoy yourself, don’t be afraid to mess up, we all do it.
Try to be helpful.
- Hey, we’re all here to have fun. So if someone needs a run, run them. You’ll get rewarded for it in the long run and I’m sure that guildie will remember that for years to come.
Be Generous.
- What goes around comes around is what I always say. If you want to have a good time, give! I mean, come on, its just like, what, 5 gold?
It's OK to screw up.
- All of us mess up at one time or another. If you swear accidentally, take a drop accidentally, or aggro VC too soon accidentally, it's ok; we all mess up.
Mind your Ps and Qs.
- Pretty much, keep your wits and manners about you. You are representing our entire guild all across the Cyclone battlegroup now! O.O! Keep on your toes.
The Rules
Any absence 2 months and over without prior notice will result in a removal from the guild.
If you're going to be gone for more than 2 months, let us know and we'll move you to MIA status. That means, you won't be kicked from the guild. Ever. That way, when you come back you still have a place to call home.
When we kick you, you are not banned from the guild, you are welcome to come back after you return. Just send us a letter and we'll reinvite.
Don't spam trade
Trade chat, while fun to spam, is best left to the trollers and drama mamas of the server. You guys represent us when you go to instances, raids and talk in trade/general/whatever. Don't spam or start drama in trade. We do read and we will ask you to stop. I don't care what reason you may consider valid as to why you started argueing with a troller in trade is, you're a representative of SoF and when we do runs or raids people recognize our guild name. So, don't spam or start/join in on drama in Trade.
Respect the other members and officers of the guild.
Pretty simple. Respect each other. The officers of this guild are here to help you and keep things in order and I take disprespect thats aimed at them very seriously. Likewise, if an officer is harrassing you, you have the responsibility of reporting it to a Co-GM or myself.
No Crude/obscene/offensive language of any kind is allowed in any guild chat.
This goes for Ventrilo, Guild Chat, Guild Raids, anything. There are private areas of the Ventrilo server, so if you want to have a private conversation please move to one of those channels. There you can say whatever you feel like. However, in the Chill Station and everywhere else, make sure to keep your conversation clean. PG-13 or G would be preferable. Any racist or sexist remarks are zero-tolerance, which means an immediate demotion or kick from the guild. We do not take these lightly.
Don't be a Drama Mama
If you have an issue with someone, don't take it in guild chat. We won't tolerate it. WoW Drama is about as fun as peeling potatos with our finger nails, we won't deal with it. We'll ask you and whoever else is involved in the drama to take it out of guild chat/raid chat/vent into a private whisper or private channel. If you don't listen, you'll merit a demotion.
No flaming/arguing/inciting an argument in any guild chat.
Please, if you're talking about something controversial like...oh, I don't know, the war in Iraq and someone starts to become offended or you guys start argueing. We're going to ask you to stop. Don't take this as if we're censoring you. You're free to speak about whatever topic you like, but the minute tempers start to flare and things get out of hand, we'll simply ask you to stop. If you don't stop, you'll be kicked from vent, muted in guild or just simply removed entirely.
Give back when you take from the Guild Bank.
I hate to make this a rule, I would like to think people can simply give back when they take things but it happens so often that it is a rule now. When you take from the guild bank, you need to give back something. If you're not able to give back right away you can send myself or another officer a letter letting us know. Or, post a little note in the forums so we all know whats going on. For full info on how the Guild Bank works, I heavily suggest reading this page.
Do not beg In any guild chat.
Please don't constantly beg for runs, gold, promotions or anything in guild chat.
Use Push-to-talk in Ventrilo.
We don't want to hear you eating. We don't want to hear you calling us all Fluffykins and offering us treats for meowing or rolling over. For more info on how Ventrilo works, I heavily suggest reading this page.
