So, Regarding Raids
| 14 February 2010

So, we have a lot to talk about regarding coming updates and changes to the guild. For the majority of you I would gamble that your main interest are the changes to raids we're proposing. And for good reason.
We're considering making the Suicide Kings Loot System the standard loot system for the entire guild. If you don't know what the SK Loot System is, check out http://www.wowwiki.com/Suicide_Kings and read up on it. On Top of that we're proposing implementing, once again, raid rules and punishments for those members who sign-up for raids and don't show.
Overall, the topic of raiding is a hot button one right now that needs your attention, so i heavily suggest clicking the Read More button below for the whole story.
Suicide Kings and You
Those who ran with me this Saturday got a small taste of what the SK Loot system is all about. There were some who thought it was fair, others who felt it didn't work. Overall, the opinion was that it was a interesting loot system and people were willing to try it out.
The fact that we're going to implement this loot system is not up for debate. We need a more fair way to distribute loot in the guild, and open rolls just ain't cuttin' it. And no, we talked about DKP, we're not doing DKP.
What concerns all of you is not if we're going to implement SK or not, what concerns you is how we're going to implement it.
What we're thinking of so far
What we got so far is as follows:
- There will be a different list per raid/per instance.
- In other words, if you go with Majii to Ony+ToC+VoA. There are going to 3 different list. One for Ony, one for ToC, one for VoA. So if you pick an item in Ony, you don't sacrifice your spot in ToC/ToC too.
- In a given list, Alts are tied to mains.
- If go in with your alt and take an item, your main and all other alts attached to you go down in the list as well.
- Still working the rest out....
- There are still some minor kinks I much rather not mention here, yet. But you'll hear about soon.
Where it becomes tricky and you should be involved
There is one major issues with this system, it doesn't punish or reward attendance. So if you don't show, you don't lose your position. Just if you keep coming, you don't gain any special bonuses.
Well, that's not right. There has been a major issue with people not showing to raids or saving to raids after they've signed up. And let me tell you now, that shit stops here. We may be a casual raiding guild but that doesn't mean you can stand up your entire group of guildies because you couldn't send an in-game letter in advance or not get saved.
For those who have done that before in the past, don't sweat it. Its in the past, all good. However, we are wanting to implement some rules to the new loot system to make it so people who show up regularly are rewarded and people who don't show are given a large disincentive not to do that again.
What we're thinking of so far is as follows:
- If you miss more than twice, you start losing position in ALL SK lists, regardless of which raid you missed.
- OR. If you miss more than X times you are removed from all SK lists
- OR if you show up continuously to X number of raids you receive a temporary freeze for 1 loot item.
- This means, if you take an item, you don't lose your spot until the next item taken.
- etc, etc etc.
The part were we need your feedback guys is here. I don't know what to do to be honest. I really don't want to make it unfair and I don't want to make it too harsh, but when people don't show up for a raid when they say they will it delays the entire raid. I have had raids delayed for hours because both healers bailed on us and we couldn't find another for a very long time.
Here is the question we have for you
What type of punishments/rewards should be given to people who don't come/come regularly?
Should we remove them from the list entirely? Should we lower there position? If we lower it, by how much? Should they be removed/banned from raids for a certain duration? Should they be demoted to MIA status for awhile?
What should we do guys. We really need feedback on this before we put anything up. If we don't get any feedback we'll post the new SK system with what we feel is appropriate and I can tell you now that won't be fair.
So please guys! Click the link above and head to the forums to give us your feedback on what you think about the SK loot system and what should be done!
New Raid Available

That's right! Finally someone has stepped up to host our first guild ICC 10 run!
Primalfocus has posted the run up on the Raid Calendar so I suggest all of you get out there and sign up! He does have a couple of gear requirements though so if you're wanting to go, I suggest you check them out!
Taken from the description box on the Raid Calendar
"Hello everyone! Primal's weekly ICC 10 man run.
There are some requirements that must be met to keep undergeared folks out, since nobody likes to work harder than they need to. The Raid Limits for classes are a suggestion for the most part. I am aiming for raid utility as well as functionality.
Reqs-
4.8k+ gearscore (no blues at all)
DPS - pls bring at least 3.5k dps to the table, I'd prefer 4k but we'll see the numbers and go from there - know your priority/rotation should be no problems with that gearscore.
Loot - I'll be running SK.
If you have any questions feel free to mail me in-game."
This sounds like its going to be a great run guys! I talked with Primal already and he has expressed that he is really excited about helping out with the guild and is wanting to make this raid as successful and fun as possible, so please, show your interest and help support a guildie! Show Primalfocus some love and sign-up for his raid today!
Also, if you have any questions feel free to send him an in-game mail or mail through the website! And add him to your friends list o.o, or else I'll eat you! \:O/
