Suicide Kings Loot System
| 18 February 2010
What is Suicide Kings?
Suicide Kings is a loot system that, when first set up, puts all members who are part of the raid group into a list in random order.
This is the only time randomness is used in the system. From that point on, whenever a blue or purple item drops, those at the top of the list can choose to "suicide", which means that they take the item and are moved to the bottom of the list. If someone "suicides" then everyone below them moves up a slot. Those who aren't in the raid, stay in the same position.
An example of Suicide Kings
Lets say, that Majii, Deathchamp, Kohana, Darken and Reavear all wanted to do a Onyxia run using Suicide Kings. Before the raid began, they would be put into a random list, either by rolling for position or by using a program, that would look something like this:
Reavear
Kohana
Darkren
Deathchamp
Majii
During the raid, the Head of Onyxia drops and Reavear, Darkren and Majii all want it. Reavear, since he is at the top, has first dibs. He passes though and then Darkren gets next dibs. Darkren wants to item, so he "suicides" and is now at the bottom of the list.
Reavear
Kohana
Deathchamp
Majii
Darkren
Darkren is now at the bottom of the list and everyone that was below him has moved up a space.
Additional FAQs
- What if an item goes to off-set?
-
If an item goes to off-set, its just an open roll.
- How are the lists organized?
-
The lists are organized per raid. Which means that every raid instance you run with a select raid leader will be a individual list
Example of this:
If Majii runs Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader and Onyxia; there will be a seperate list for each one of those instances.
There will not be an "off-set" list or "main-set" list. So you'll have to be thinking about which piece of gear you take.Raid leaders still retain the right to make modifications to this list. This is the standard for the guild, but they may vary from raid to raid. Loot is still at raid leaders discretion. - What happens when new players join the run?
-
Let's say that a week later, we do another raid, but this time Demios decides to tag along. New members always go in at the bottom of the list, which means the list is now:
Reavear
Kohana
Deathchamp
Majii
Darkren
Demios - What happens when some players on the list aren't in the run?
-
Let's say that next week, Kohana and Darkren can't make it to the run. The list is as follows from our last run, but we'll italicize Kohana and Darkren to indicate that they are not present.
ReavearKohanaDeathchampMajiiDarkrenDemiosNow, lets say that Horseman's Helm drops and Reavear suicides on it. At this point the rotation proceeds as normal, with the exception that Kohana and Darkren do not move; everyone directly behind them "leapfrogs" them. The list is now as follows:
Deathchamp
KohanaMajiiDemiosDarkrenReavear
